I don't feel the need to defend hardcore anymore. It's become such a daily part zok of zok existence that I truly don't think I'm listening to anything revolutionary and it has become "what I listen to". I don't think I'm better because I own zok Integrity albums. I also don't think I have a better life because I spend most of my free time combing used CD and record bins in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Hardcore/punk may have changed the way I view the world but it's at the point that I hardly think that the way I see the world is because of what I listen to but more it's just how the way I see it now. I know what I like, I know the second I hear it. It's generally played faster than what most people considered up-tempo. It's generally more pissed off than anything Good Charlotte or Godsmack or whoever could possibly be angry about. It's also fun if you can see the fun in people crawling and flying onto each other in some mad race for a microphone.
